  Many LGBTQIA+ clients had adverse childhood experiences that were clearly harmful. Many others had experiences that were covert, not clearly traumatic, and, if they are not expressly assessed, the effects can be easily missed and misunderstood. The presenter examines LGBTQIA+ client experiences and the counseling process through a complex post-traumatic stress lens, providing attendees clinical tools with case conceptualizations from the presenter's clinical experience practice with LGBTQIA+ adults.
