Important Information About the LMHC License Exam (NCMHCE)
The NCMHCE is being given in the Computer-based format
It will be given one week or two weeks per month, first week of each month except April and September (3rd week).Monday thru Saturday 9:00 to 1:30 in Cambridge, Holyoke, Framingham and Saugus. Registration is still through NBCC. But you must now also contact Pearson VUE, NBCC/CCE’s Computer Exam Contractor, for dates, availability and location after you receive registration confirmation from NBCC.
The Licensure Exam is in the clinical simulation format and contains progressive sets of questions designed to resemble an actual clinical experience. The simulations contain questions that assess clinical information gathering and decision making skills related to various aspects of clients' treatment including assessment and diagnosis, treatment planning, professional practice issues, treatment evaluation and outcomes.

MaMHCA’s Exam Preparation Services
MaMHCA offers workshops to prepare people for the licensure examination. Exam Prep Workshops are offered about three times a year. These are intensive workshops conducted by the Psychotherapists Training Institute (PTI). PTI also has a license exam preparation handbook and study guide which may be purchased separately. The MaMHCA course and PTI workbook cover all the content areas addressed by the test. (National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination, or NCMHCE).
