About the Workshop
MaMHCA has begun offering this important workshop for LMHC aspirants in 1-day sessions delivered virtually via Zoom. This change, prompted by the Covid-19 Emergency measures, has allowed us to be more flexible and to provide benefits to participants in several ways:
• The workshop price has been reduced to reflect the shortened time-frame;
• We can schedule workshops more frequently;
• Less time is needed and travel to Foxboro is not necessary;
►The same extensive study materials will continue to be provided.
This has allowed some agencies & graduate programs to invite us to present this workshop just for their own trainees.
The workshop is designed to provide you with the information you need to pass the exam and includes techniques to assess your knowledge base for the subjects needed for the NCMHCE Exam, including: Diagnosis, Treatment Planning, Evaluation, Professional Practice, Counseling Theory, Human Growth and Development, and more.
At the workshop you will receive the PTI Clinical Mental Health Counselor Handbook & Study Guide 3rd Edition, with all the study areas covered so you can also prepare for the test at home after the workshop.
A Test Taking Techniques component provides you with traditional test taking techniques as well as personal insights into your individual style of learning and test taking abilities. You will be given sample tests that are modeled after the NCMHCE Exam so you have the opportunity to see how you perform within their structure.
Additionally, On-line simulations, PTI’s ExamAce, will be provided to familiarize you with the computer-based exam format. Then you will be shown how to improve and optimize your ability to use your knowledge to successfully pass the exam.
About the NCMHCE Exam:
The exam consists of two types of question sets, assessing two broad types of skill sets: Information Gathering (IG) & Decision Making (DM). Within each of these 2 sets appropriate clinical content areas are assessed. IG skills and DM skills are scored separately. You must ace each of these broad skill sets to pass the exam.
The License exam (NCMHCE) is authored by NBCC and administered by Pearson VUE. Applications to take the computer-based exam must be submitted in a timely manner. Application to take the exam can be obtained through NBCC or the LMHC licensing board website.
► This workshop has successfully helped over 3750 LMHCs pass their license exam!
