Due to the large expected number of participants, not all questions may be answered and they must be submitted in advance! To submit a question please submit them to: Nancy Carlucci, Deputy Director Office of Behavioral Health at nancy.carlucci@.state.ma.us.
Topics For Discussion:
MassHealth knows there is quite a bit of confusion out there so they want to get the message out that:
MassHealth members will still be able to see their providers
There will be a continuity of care window in which existing authorizations are honored
Representatives from both MassHealth and the health plans will respond to questions on these calls
MassHealth will also be holding "BH Office Hour" meetings in March where they will meet with specific trades/provider groups, including specific meetings for professional groups like MaMHCA / LMHCs. These meetings will likely provide more of an opportunity for our members to pose questions and get answers directly to anything that is not discussed in Friday's meeting. We will keep you updated with more info on these meetings as soon as we have it!
The hope is that together we can allay some anxiety and set the stage for a smooth transition for our members and yours!

From the desk of Nancy Carlucci, MassHealth Deputy Director of Behavioral Health:
Feb. 21, 2018
Good afternoon everyone,
On March 1, 2018 the new Accountable Care Organization (ACO) and Managed Care Organization (MCO) contracts will become effective for the
purpose of improving accountability and integration of care for MassHealth members.
In advance of this launch MassHealth’s Office of Behavioral Health will host two,1 hour-long meetings/conference calls to provide a general overview
of the new model as it pertains to behavioral health.
We also will review MassHealth’s plan for the transition of member care from one plan to another otherwise known as continuity of care.
As we anticipate a large number of participants and therefore may not be able to answer all questions during the meeting, please submit questions in advance of the meeting to:
Nancy Carlucci, Deputy Director Office of Behavioral Health at nancy.carlucci@.state.ma.us.
Also, we’d like to call your attention to upcoming opportunities to speak with MassHealth staff to address questions that may arise during the initial stages of implementation of the new ACO and MCO programs.
MassHealth will host ‘BH Office Hour’ meetings in March which will target specific provider types such as community mental health centers and inpatient psychiatric hospitals,
as well as professional groups including social workers, LMHCs, psychiatrists, psychologists and youth providers. Details to follow.
Thank you for your efforts to ensure a successful launch of MassHealth’s Payment and Care Delivery Innovation (PCDI).
