ICD-10 and CPT Code Changes
A long awaited revision to the ICD-9 is on the horizon, and these codes look VERY different than our DSM-IV-TR codes or our good ole’ ICD-9 codes!
In addition to providing payers with a diagnosis code in HCFA box #21, we also must provide them with a code that describes what we did in the session. We call this a CPT Code (Current Procedural Terminology Code), and they go in box #24D. CPT Codes will be changing January 1, 2013
