The new LMHC regulations, the CMR-262 went into effect June 5, 2015. In addition to changes in requirements for licensure as an LMHC, they also include several important new elements that impact LMHC practice, including new minimum requirements for a client record, new minimum requirements for informed consent to treat, new specified ethical standards, and new standards for Approved Supervisors and supervision. Cultural Competency of clinicians is a fundamental component of LMHC Training, adherance to Ethical Standards, and maintaining Standards of Practice. This training will address the many factors that must be considered in maintaining culturally competent practices. It will highlight the complexity that can arise among the different cultural backgrounds of clients, therapist (the supervisee), and supervisor.

Using a developmental model of supervision, this workshop will begin by defining "crisis" and will go on to explore the management of the inevitable anxiety that arises when new and developing clincians encounter crisis in their work.
