This training is comprised of two parts, describing the process and importance of documenting counseling services.

Part 1:
The first workshop in this series provides an overview of best practices in documenting counseling services, including a rationale for the therapeutic importance and value of effective documentation, as well as the main ethical, legal, and billing issues that arise in the context of inadequately documented services. Along with the importance of documentation, participants are introduced to a framework of outcome-based documentation, which links together assessment, treatment planning, progress, and discharge records. The workshop concludes with a review of assessment writing principles.
Presenter: Annabelle Frazier, MS, PhD, has a background in forensic documentation. She presentes regulary at local graduate programs on Documentation best practices.
