Following our board meeting on 3/16/2013, we will have a panel of LMHCs to discuss their experience with private practice and answer your questions!  Please send your questions for the panel. NOTE: During this panel, we are unable by law to discuss reimbursement rates from insurance payors.  

To register, please email us, and bring your $20 donation with you to the event.

Karen Enegess, LMHC

Karen Enegess, LMHC, is a psychotherapist in full-time private practice, and an adjunct faculty member at Lesley University.  She began a part-time private practice in 2002 while working full-time at community-based agencies in the Boston area.  Her self-employment status has been full-time for approximately 5 years, and the whole journey of creating and building a practice has been a step-by-step process.  A graduate of Lesley University's Clinical Mental Health Counseling program, she maintains a holistic orientation in her work, incorporating mindfulness and yoga philosophy and techniques, in a strengths-based, client-centered approach.

Thea Farrell graduated from Boston University with a B.A. in Psychology in 1986.  She is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Boston in 1994 with an M.Ed. in Counselor Training.
Thea has been working with individuals who have had a mental health diagnosis and supervising staff members since 1986.  She has been practicing psychotherapy for 18 years. Thea worked for seven years at a small outpatient mental health clinic that specialized in treating Posttraumatic Stress D.O..  She is currently working at NorthEast Health Services where she is a Supervisor, the Intake Coordinator , Member of the Clinical Management Team, as well as a practicing clinician where she has been for 12 years.  Thea works with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. 
Thea also opened Holistic Health Services in 2008 in Falmouth, Massachusetts.  It is a Private Practice providing psychotherapy services for children, adolescents, adults, couples and families.  Here individuals have the option of having traditional psychodynamic counseling services and/or a more holistic mind, bod , spirit approach; as well as Healing Through The Horse, Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy.  Thea is Reiki Master Teacher in Shambala Multi-dimensional  Healing as well as an Usui  Reiki Practitioner.    Thea offers Healing Through The Horse at Smithfield Farm in East Falmouth Massachusetts. Holistic Health Services also provides Reiki/Energy Work to for relaxation and health to clients who are not  psychotherapy clients.  

Ken Sherman, LMHC

Ken Sherman, LMHC, has been in private practice since 2004.  He is a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor, Level One, a MaMHCA Certified Supervisor and an adjunct faculty member (on hiatus in 2013) in Lesley University's graduate Counseling and Psychology Division.  He worked half-time in community mental health as a senior clinician and supervisor until 4 years ago.  Ken sees adults and couples, and has a holistic orientation.  Psychotherapy is a second career: Ken was a television reporter and freelance writer for many years.
